Ok this bit makes sense - well sort of, if you are one of the 'very lucky' ones among us that will never have need of any form of healthcare in your life, then thankyou for your time.
In the rare event that you do, then please read on...
This applies to the majority of people here -
1: Find your nearest health administration centre.
2: Proceed at a leisurely pace to the Office.
3: Once there take a numbered ticket and wait patiently.
Not a problem you say, well this is where the fun really starts, if the office is in the nearest big town then getting there can be a nightmare, a leisurly pace is out of the question.
And...
Taking a number is not that easy, or getting the day right. First there is a set allocation of numbers, 100 is the average, then here's the good bit... they are only issued by hand between 06:30 and 07:00 or until they run out, usually within minutes. So you missed out, tough and tough again! Imagine you are a single parent, you've missed the number allocation, have travelled 25 kilometres to get there and have to camp out. Now add this into the equation, the office is only open for 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday between the hours of 08:30 and 14:30 and not at all after the 25th of each month for the next 5 / 6 days.
Unless you have paid your dues, Doctor's can treat you only by charging full fees and all medication is full priceas well. The usual charge for health care is in 6month chunks, which can be hard to find for quite a few here. Even the lowest tariff sounds cheap but is a fortune to most here.
So you will be pleased to know that in the event that after paying the due tariff, you sadly depart this mortal coil, before you tariff payment has expired, you can get a refund.
Problem is it has to be the dead person that applies in person as a signature is required, taking of a ticket to get the necessary paperwork completed is also compulsory by the dead person as well. So try not to be ill full stop!
In the event that you are, make an appointment at least 3 weeks in advance to your Dr's and do not die before any healthcare payments have expired, the refund headache should not be a post-mortal headache for you to worry about.
